Torre de Belém - blue hour in Lisbon/ Portugal The Torre de Belém in the Belém district at the mouth of the River Tejo in Lisbon/ Portugal is one of the city's most famous landmarks. The tower was commissioned by the Portuguese King Manuel I in 1515 and completed six years later.
Since then, it has symbolised the heyday of the Portuguese maritime and trading empire.
