I did not want to 'freeze'the dynamics of the breaking waves by a short exposure time. To make this possible, I went out when there was hardly any light. It was mid-November, it had snowed a bit and there was a strong wind. Everything was in motion; the water, the sky and drifting sand. That produced this image, which shows movement but strangely radiates calm. This photo was taken on the beach at Castricum aan Zee.
