Silk-cotton tree overgrows the temple Ta Prohm, Cambodia.
The trees that grow over and through the ruins are most remarkable at the temple of Ta Prohm.
There are 2 species of trees: the silk-cotton tree and the stranglehold fig.
The temple was built in Bayon style, in the 12th and 13th centuries. Many of the temples in Angkor have been (partially) restored. Not Ta Prohm because the trees and the temples are so intertwined that they can't live without each other anymore. Which does produce photogenic pictures.
