It was worked with palette knives, paint rollers and masking tape.
The style is abstract ; a geometric composition....
Technically, grattage (literally: scraping) has been applied. To be precise: grattage with a palette knife in the still wet paint. In the process, the top layer is partly removed, revealing the underlying layer. Hardly anything is visible of the grattage; it is applied in the blue of the triangle (under the colours, that is).
Grattage was invented and applied in the middle of the last century by Joan Miró, Antonio Saura and Max Ernst, among others. The technique is characteristic of movements such as Futurism, Cubism and Surrealism.
This painting is titled: Triangle.... the colourful triangle speaks for itself. The background in black and white suggests depth and movement...
