Travelling from the province of Viterbo towards Siena on a rainy day, I was struck by this Tuscan landscape along the way. Especially by the image of brightly lit green areas interspersed with strong shadows, and a sea of red clover snaking through it. The threatening grey-white cloud cover contrasts beautifully with the colourful landscape and gives the whole scene something ominous.
Living partly in the Netherlands and partly in Italy, I have always been fascinated by images, both in photography and film and painting. Over time, I have focused more and more on photography, and I also enjoy painting. My main source of inspiration is nature, so most of my photos are nature-related. I love nothing more than walking and exploring, and translating the atmosphere of a place into images. Besides nature, I also photograph cities and villages, the people moving around in them, and architectural structures.
