Two knitting women in Chivay, Peru. The older ladies wear the characteristic, traditional clothing. In the Andes, traditional costumes are the most widely preserved. In the villages you can still see women and men traditionally dressed. The woman's bolskirt seems to originate from the skirts of Spanish women from the 19th century. The women are wearing hats.
