I took this photo at the Ermelosche Heide on the Veluwe. As you can see, the heather was already nice and purple when I was there. I chose to photograph 2 free-standing sheep from the Ermelosche sheep flock for this photo. The sheep are of the Veluws heath sheep breed, it seems to be a stubborn breed. It is a typical Veluws picture what you see here. I took this picture from the hand to be able to work a little faster, sheep sometimes like to stand still. The flock to which these 2 sheep belong goes out to pasture every day.
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
