An exact picture of the original painting vase with 12 sunflowers by Vincent van Gogh from 1888.
I spent a lot of time creating this image in beautiful realistic fresh colours as I think Vincent van Gogh intended it to be.
The painting was made during Vincent van Gogh's time in Arles, southern France.
Of the sunflower series there are three paintings with fifteen sunflowers in a vase and two paintings with twelve sunflowers in a vase. Van Gogh first painted this painting, a vase with twelve sunflowers, which hangs in the Neue Pinakothek Museum in Munich, Germany. The later paintings came into being in January 1889. Vincent Van Gogh began painting the works at the end of the summer of 1888 and continued doing so a year later. The paintings went to his friend Paul Gauguin as decoration for his bedroom. The paintings depict different periods of flowering of the sunflowers, from full bloom to wilderness. New was the use of the many yellow colours. In a letter to his brother Theo van Gogh Vincent wrote: somehow the sunflower is mine.
