Villa Winter is surrounded by mysterious stories, fueled in part by its very remote location. Villa Winter was built in 1937 by German engineer and Colonel Gustav Winter, Nazi spy and confidant of Adolf Hitler. The strategic location of the villa is associated with the fact that it was used for secret military operations and as a provisioning station for German submarines. A beachfront cemetery near the villa also continues to lead to speculation in this regard.
There is evidence that Fuerteventura was a base for German submarines during World War II. There are even rumors that two complete submarines must still be in the secret German base.
My name is Steven Dijkshoorn and I have been taking pictures with a lot of pleasure for years. My focus has always been urbex photography. This is photographing abandoned buildings where you are not allowed to go in so it is always an adventure. You can see and read more of this on https://www.stevendijkshoorn.nl
But time does not stand still and neither does my development. You can find a lot of still life, photos of Rotterdam, Scotland, and much more.
