Watercolour of the Lange Jan in Middelburg. The historic town of Middelburg was founded in the ninth century. De Lange dates from the 2nd half of the 14th century with its associated abbey complex. The Lange Jan has been damaged and repaired several times. The heaviest destruction came in May 1940 when Middelburg was set on fire. The Lange Jan was also destroyed on that occasion. Nevertheless, restoration was decided on as early as 1940. This restoration was completed in 1955.

My focus is on Zeeland.
Living close to dunes, beach and a large nature reserve gives me a rich feeling. A feeling I like to share with others. I want to do that by using my passion for watercolour to depict the most beautiful places, historic towns and villages. So the beauty of this place that attracts many tourists every year. I am currently finishing the images of Walcheren, but the rest of Zeeland will come soon.
With the transparent and colourful look of my watercolours, I also want to show that there is more to Zeeland than mainstream photo images.
