Watercolour painting of the Loskade in Middelburg. The name kade already tells you that this quay is a relatively new one, all older quays are called kaai. The quay was constructed in 1817 when the canal between Middelburg and Vlissingen The stretch between Middelburg and Veere was deepened and widened. For this widening, which historical ramparts and the Vlissingen Gate had to be demolished. Large and distinguished houses arose at the beginning of the quay.

My focus is on Zeeland.
Living close to dunes, beach and a large nature reserve gives me a rich feeling. A feeling I like to share with others. I want to do that by using my passion for watercolour to depict the most beautiful places, historic towns and villages. So the beauty of this place that attracts many tourists every year. I am currently finishing the images of Walcheren, but the rest of Zeeland will come soon.
With the transparent and colourful look of my watercolours, I also want to show that there is more to Zeeland than mainstream photo images.
