As an abstract art photographer, I am always fascinated by the beauty that lies in the mundane and transient. This photograph is an ode to impermanence and the aesthetics of decay. The inspiration for this work comes from my admiration for the Japanese wabi-sabi philosophy, which celebrates the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. Through the lens of my camera, I try to take the viewer into a world where rust and decay are no longer seen as ugly, but rather as a source of beauty and inspiration.
The mood I want to set with this work is one of contemplation and appreciation for time and nature. It is reminiscent of the abstract art style of artists such as Mark Rothko and Gerhard Richter, who also play with colour, texture and emotion in their work. What makes this work so special is the way it invites the viewer to contemplate the beauty of the everyday and the ephemeral. It is an artwork that is not only visually appealing, but also carries a deeper message about the value of time and change. This makes it a unique and meaningful piece to hang on the wall.
