As an abstract art photographer, I am always looking for the beauty in the everyday. This study in the series "Weathered Harmony" is a perfect representation of my fascination with impermanence and the textures that time leaves on industrial surfaces. The picture shows a close-up of a weathered metal surface, in which several layers of paint and rust are visible. The colours range from soft green and rust brown to deep black and white, creating an intriguing palette of natural ageing.
My inspiration for this work comes from the wabi-sabi philosophy, which celebrates the beauty of imperfection and impermanence. Through the lens of my camera, I try to take the viewer into a world where time has left its mark, and where every scratch and stain tells a story. The resulting atmosphere is both soothing and contemplative, an invitation to dwell on the beauty of decay.
This work echoes the abstract art style of artists such as Gerhard Richter and Anselm Kiefer, who also explore the texture and layering of surfaces. What makes this work so special is the combination of abstraction and realism; it is a work of art that continues to intrigue both up close and from afar. It is a perfect addition to any space that could use a touch of industrial elegance and depth.
