As an abstract art photographer, I am always looking for the hidden beauty in the everyday. This image shows a weathered door with striking red and white stripes, a visual spectacle that exudes both rhythm and decay. The peeling paint tells a story of impermanence and time. These elements, combined with the vibrant colours, create a tension between order and chaos.
Similar artists such as Piet Mondrian and Barnett Newman have also used simple shapes and colours to convey complex emotions and ideas. Mondrian's use of primary colours and straight lines in his compositions, and Newman's monumental areas of colour, serve as inspiration for my work. Like these greats, I strive to elevate the mundane into something extraordinary, inviting the viewer to look deeper and discover the hidden layers of our daily lives.
This image invites us to appreciate the beauty of imperfection and see the stories hidden in details of our surroundings. By playing with colour, texture and composition, I hope to create a moment of reflection and wonder. The door symbolises not only access, but also the boundaries between the known and the unknown, between past and future.
Inspired by the pioneers of abstract art, I strive to use my photography to engage the viewer and invite a dialogue with the image. Explore the world through my lens and be surprised by the art that lives around us.
TXperience is part of Hans Kwaspen Photography. Devoted for years to the beauty of Texel, this gallery is a representation of impressions as the photographer experiences them over and over again.
He is described as having a keen eye for detail and a deep understanding of abstract art with a strong sense of aesthetics and composition.
The careful balance between lines, colour areas and textures indicates a profound artistic vision. With this, he knows how to find beauty in simplicity and manages to convey it effectively.
His work shows the ability to transform everyday objects into something extraordinary. This points to a conceptual approach to photography, focusing on telling a story or conveying an idea.
