Westhoofd lighthouse, located near Ouddorp on Goeree-Overflakkee, is an impressive beacon on the South Holland coast. Built in 1947, this 56-metre-high tower watches over the North Sea and Haringvliet and is a recognisable landmark for ships and coastal visitors alike. With its robust, square shape and red and white colour, the lighthouse stands out beautifully against the surrounding dune landscape.

The lighthouse, which is not open to the public, stands in a protected nature reserve where peace and quiet reign. Surrounded by dunes, extensive beaches and hiking trails, the area around the lighthouse offers an ideal place for nature lovers to enjoy the rugged coastal landscape.
