About "Wheat and Sickle"

by Iris Holzer Richardson

About the artwork

"Wheat and Sickle" is inspired by the Ukrainian month of August, or серпень, which is the time of harvest. In the past, Ukrainian small farmers gathered their wheat harvest using a серп (sickle).
