The vast, arid plains around Aus in Namibia are home to the mysterious wild horses of the desert. For generations, these majestic animals have braved the harsh conditions of the Namib Desert, where extreme heat and scarcity of water are the norm.
Their origins are shrouded in legend. Some believe they are descended from horses that escaped during German colonial times, others think they were left behind after World War I. Whatever their origin, their survival instinct and unprecedented adaptability make them a unique symbol of freedom and strength.
