Dutch windmills are a concept abroad. This mill in Aarlanderveen 'De Morgenster' is a former corn mill. It is a tower mill built in 1870 and used to grind grain.

I have been photographing since I was 15. Bought my first SLR (Olympus OM-1) when I was 23. Since then, photography has never let go of me. Had little time for it, though, due to career and my own business (since 1996). Now that I am retired, I am up to speed with photography again. I now work with Nikon. Favourite subjects are mostly images of nature (especially animals). I find birds interesting because of the freedom they symbolise while for humans this is increasingly curtailed. That is why I photograph them slightly differently, so that they also express something human. That makes the photos more interesting. And that is what I like best; that others and myself can enjoy a picture that says something.
