De molen houdt het natuurgebied De Steendert in Ophemert nat in plaats van droog. Bijna al het houtwerk aan de molen is zwart ''geteerd''. Dat deze molen nooit zal omvallen is zo goed als zeker, zij is bijkans even breed als hoog.
De molen stond voorheen in Wadenoijen maar werd in verband met windbelemmering door vuilnisbelt, spoorlijn en snelweg , in 2010 verplaatst naar de huidige locatie.
