This factory, built in 1901, was the main facility of the Italian association of calcium carbide acetylene and other gases, founded in Rome on May 2, 1896, In the first years of activity the company preferred to buy the nearest farmland and buildings and allocate them to the expansion of the factory, instead of paying a continuous fee for pollution. Demand for carbide fell in the following years as a result of the appearance on the market of other competing companies that were able to make competitive prices.
It was taken over by several people in the following years, but in 1973 it had to close its doors.
