This used to be a small spa hotel divided into two parts, but connected by a bridge that allowed those who stayed, to reach the nearby thermal bath without crossing the river on foot.
The thermal structure dating back to the 13th century was built in this area because of the particular sulphurous water that, according to legends of the time, could cure diseases such as: skin ulcers, leprosy, paralysis and arthritis diseases.
It is said that the origin of the water is due to a hole caused by the fall of the bell of the neighboring abbey.
I was particularly impressed that after all these years the water was still fairly clear.
