In het voorjaar kleuren de mannetjes van de heikikker kortstondig blauw om de vrouwtjes te imponeren. Op een mooie, warme, windstille voorjaarsdag kunnen ze dan massaal gaan zingen; een prachtig geluid. Boots je dat geluid na dan komen ze nieuwsgierig een kijkje bij je nemen.

Seeing art in nature, living a live full of wonder!
Ronald Hofmeester (1958) is a nature photographer and poet. All his life he has had a great fascination for nature. For years he has dedicated himself to increasing children's involvement with nature and the environment; as a teacher, as a consultant and as a pabo teacher. The last ten years he tries with his impressions mainly to capture the essence of what he sees and feels in nature; both in his photographs and in his poems. By means of tranquillity and alienation he shows how the ordinary is actually very special. He is always on the lookout for new angles in order to put everyday nature, in particular, in a new light. His autism gives him a helping hand because he sees and experiences the world differently. According to Ronald, photography is actually primarily the creation of an illusion and it is our imagination that takes us further than just the image. His camera is therefore indispensable because, as he says:
my camera shows, sometimes unintentionally
what my eyes can't see
but my heart does feel that way
