This is a photo of a former sugar factory. The sugar factory was born around 1899.
The chimney at the factory still dominates the city. Thousands of men worked in it and thousands of beets were transported by trucks to the industries and then underwent the process of transformation into sugar.
The factory was at its peak in the years 1903 to 1922 until work slowly declined, many workers went home and the day came when the last bell rang and the last beet was processed. The factory is still empty and in decline today.
