I took this black-and-white photo in the Leuvenum forest in the municipality of Ermelo in the Veluwe. This forest was once planted to fix the drifting sand, you can still see that the trees were planted. It is, however, a piece of coniferous forest in the Leuvenumse bos. To make this photo, I took 3 photos with different exposures to merge into 1 well-exposed photo afterwards. When I took this HDR photo, I knew this photo was going to be in black and white. I chose to take this photo standing to emphasise the height of the trees. Of course, I also used a tripod to keep my camera stable, and I also used a 35mm lens.
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the beginning I mainly do nature photography, it is mainly landscapes I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work.
