I took this photo in the Leuvenum forest near Ermelo in the Veluwe. This forest was once planted to fix the drifting sand, you can still see that the trees were planted. It is a piece of coniferous forest in the Leuvenum forest, though. To make this photo, I took 3 photos with different exposures to merge into 1 well-exposed photo afterwards. It was actually my intention to take this photo in black-and-white, but when I looked at it on my computer afterwards, I also like it in colour. I chose to take this photo standing upright to emphasise the height of the trees. Of course, I also used a tripod to keep my camera stable, and I used a 35mm lens.

This artworks is offered by Gerard de Zwaan
Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the start I mainly do nature photography, it's mainly landscapes that I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work. I think my work should be seen; if it ends up on a wall somewhere in Europe like the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Switzerland or Austria, I certainly don't mind.
