I took this photo from the birdwatching hut in the Harderbroek near Zeewolde. The White Wagtail you see came to sit on the edge of the hut I was in, to since I already had a telephoto lens on my camera I could take this picture right away. It is a small bird though of which there are a few more in the area. To as the background is far behind this little bird the background has become quite out of focus. The reed this little white wagtail is sitting on is from the hut I was in. I do like the depth of field in this photo, you can see that I did have backlight when I took this photo.

Welcome to my shop. My name is Gerard de Zwaan and I was born in 1983 in the Veluwe town of Harderwijk, where I still live. I started photography in 2013. My first camera was a Nikon D3200 which I still own, currently I use a Nikon D7200. Every now and then I also use 1 or 2 Nikon SB700 reportage flash units to highlight a subject. From the start I mainly do nature photography, it's mainly landscapes that I photograph, the Veluwe woods around Harderwijk being a perfect starting point for this. Occasionally I do macro photography and sometimes I photograph wildlife. Occasionally, I also do portraits of people, which can be commissioned or free work. I think my work should be seen; if it ends up on a wall somewhere in Europe like the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany, France, Switzerland or Austria, I certainly don't mind.
