Unique handmade durable artwork of an African elephant with paint residue on discarded wood
The African elephants (Loxodonta) are a genus of the elephant family (Elephantidae). Fossils of this genus are only known from Africa, where the animals have been found since the middle of the Pliocene. At present there are still two species, both descended from the Loxodonta adaurora, which became extinct two million years ago. The species in this genus are among the largest contemporary land animals on earth. The bull of the savannah elephant (Loxodonta africana) can weigh over 6 tons.
