MadameRuiz Profile picture Almond blossom in lilac, after Vincent van Gogh's beautiful 1890 painting. The blossom in the tree in soft shades of purple and pink, make this icon of art history a gentle one. A beautiful background to your room as wallpaper on the wall, but this work will also do well on canvas. A new cycle, a new beginning, a new life, Van Gogh painted the blossom in multiples. We see the blossom in the almond tree early in spring. The blossom marks the start of spring. Symbolically also the start of a new cycle, a new life. And that fits perfectly with what the original painting was meant for. Van Gogh painted this, originally turquoise painting, as a birth present for his newborn nephew Vincent. Named after, yes, Vincent van Gogh. Because the work became a treasured possession in the family, the painting was never sold and now shines in the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam. In the late 19th century, Dutch artists got inspiration from Japanese prints. This happened because the Japanese wrapped their merchandise with graphic misprints to protect their merchandise. In the Netherlands, people actually loved the misprints and this ensured that the strange perspective, and strange cropping of Japanese printmaking found their way into our own culture. Almond Blossom is painted up close and from below, and Vincent van Gogh had a hard life. Yet this work looks airy and fresh. His works are painted in post-impressionist style. Impressionism still shines through in the impression of the moment Van Gogh is painting here. The word 'post' in Van Gogh's work shows that this artist wanted to do more than just depict a moment. He was known to let his emotion also shine through in his art, making him one of the founders of 20th-century expressionism.

I am MadameRuiz, and am an artist by profession. I hope to delight you with my work. Here in my profile, or on your wall :) Both are fun!

Will you let me know what you think of my work? I would love to get in touch with you. Also when you have one of my works in your home I am very curious about the end result in your interior.

I love everything that has to do with art, culture and creativity. Experiencing, creating, teaching and communicating. Through language, image, non-verbal and through the musical voice.

I became known for my commissioned ink portraits. My work was first shown to a large audience in the program VTWonen Weer verliefd op je huis (February 2021). I make many ink portraits of and for individuals; from pregnancy portraits, wedding portraits, child portraits, love portraits and family portraits to portraits of pets such as dogs, cats, horses and birds. These ink portraits are all handmade by the way, drawn and painted with east indian ink on watercolor paper.

In my shop at work on the wall you can order my Digital Art. Because I normally work almost exclusively on commission, my autonomous art via Digital Art is really a wonderful experimental outlet. This also means that I keep experimenting with painting techniques and collage techniques using Photoshop. Although I love to experiment, quality comes first
