An abstract mixed media artwork full of symbolism. It originated from a dead owl I found. Fascinated by its feathers, I started a sketchbook around the theme of feathers and wings. The sketches went from dark, with a lot of blue and brown, to lighter and lighter. This is one of those light results. The work has been photographed up close, so you can really 'crawl' into the artwork. Enjoy the subtle colors, textures and you can even see the fibers of the paper.
For my drawings and paintings I wander through nature with my camera and sketchbook, looking for inspiration. Along the way I take pictures; not only from my passion for photography, but also as reference material for my art. At Werk aan de Muur you'll find a selection of my photos, made in places like the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes, the Veluwe and at the beach. I hope you enjoy all the beauty of nature as much as I do.
