Dorothy Berry-Lound Profile picture A beautiful turquoise plant pot sits on top of a darker blue container. Cascading and exotic plants complete this picture of colorful plant pots at the Jardin Majorelle in Marrakech, Morocco.

I was absolutely entranced by the Jardin Majorelle, Not just the buildings and plantings but the wonderful use of brightly colored plant pots throughout. I have several examples in my collection. I have always been a lover of bright colored plant pots but my visit to Marrakech suggested I wasn't thinking big enough!

It is not just the color of the pots that was breathtaking, it was the creative planting with architectural plants. For example, in this shot, spiky cactus contrast beautifully with a soft, cascading fern. Add the shadows from the plants on the pots and it is just so eye-catching.

I would also have never thought of putting two shades of blue together like this but they really compliment each other very well.

Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.

An artist and blogger, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.

I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
