Unique handmade portrait of Dafne Schippers on discarded wood
Dafne Schippers (born Utrecht, 15 June 1992) is a Dutch athlete. In 2015 she became world champion in the 200 m in a European record of 21.63 s and second in the 100 m in the national record time of 10.81. A year later she won silver at the Olympics in the 200 m. In 2014 she became European champion in the 100 and 200 m. In 2016 she prolonged her European title in the 100 m, followed by prolongation of her world title in the 200 m in 2017 in London.
Schippers initially focused on the all-around with great success. In 2010, she became the junior world champion in the heptathlon, the first world title in a heptathlon ever for a Dutchman. In 2012 she finished twelfth in the heptathlon at the Olympic Games, followed a year later by a third place at the World Championships, the first Dutch woman to conquer a medal at a senior World Athletics Championship.
In addition to her aptitude for the heptathlon and sprint, she proved to be a talented long-distance jumper. She won many national youth titles in the sprint and long jump events and became the first Dutch women's sprint champion at age 17. She also achieved success as a member of the national team in the 4 x 100 m relay with, in addition to various national record improvements, silver at the European Championships in 2012, gold at the 2016 European Championships in Amsterdam and a place in the finals at the Olympic Games in London.
Unique, affordable and personalized art, portraits and gifts on preferably old, used or discarded wood.
We are Gerhard van Dijkhuizen and Colet Scheper. Together we came up with the concept hou2use. Based on a photo we invent, design and create unique, personal and affordable art on wood. We strongly believe in sustainability and therefore we prefer to make portraits of people or (domestic) animals on used or discarded wood.
We love most art on commission. We then conceive and create, together with you and especially for you, a custom-made work of art or portrait on wood.
Thanks to our special collaboration with Werk aan de Muur, you can also reproduce our unique work in virtually any format and on virtually any material!
