Unique sustainable portrait of David Bowie hand-painted with paint residue on waste wood
David Robert Jones, better known by his stage name David Bowie, (Brixton, London, January 8, 1947 - New York, January 10, 2016) was a British singer, songwriter, music producer and actor. He is considered one of the most influential rock musicians from the 1960s to the present.
David Bowie became known for world hits such as Space Oddity, Changes, Life on Mars?, Ziggy Stardust, Let's Dance, Absolute Beginners and Heroes. Bowie also did a number of successful duets including Under Pressure (with Queen), Dancing in the Street (with Mick Jagger) and Tonight (with Tina Turner). He was also known for his various images, which were especially eccentric during his glam rock period in the 1970s. In addition to his career as an artist, Bowie was also an actor in several films and a producer for other artists.

Unique, affordable and personalized art, portraits and gifts on preferably old, used or discarded wood.
We are Gerhard van Dijkhuizen and Colet Scheper. Together we came up with the concept hou2use. Based on a photo we invent, design and create unique, personal and affordable art on wood. We strongly believe in sustainability and therefore we prefer to make portraits of people or (domestic) animals on used or discarded wood.
We love most art on commission. We then conceive and create, together with you and especially for you, a custom-made work of art or portrait on wood.
Thanks to our special collaboration with Werk aan de Muur, you can also reproduce our unique work in virtually any format and on virtually any material!
