Bart Veeken Profile picture De molen aan het einde van de straat is "Adriaan'. De oorspronkelijke windmolen brandde in 1932 tot op de grond af. 70 jaar lang heeft niemand het ooit in het echt gezien. Er waren alleen wat korrelige zwart-witfoto's en olieverfschilderijen om naar te kijken. Maar 70 jaar later (in 2002) werd 'Adriaan' op exact dezelfde plek opnieuw opgebouwd. Het was alsof we teruggingen in de tijd. Vanaf die dag is het weer een onderscheidend onderdeel van de skyline van Haarlem, net als eeuwen daarvoor.
