Passignano Sul Trasimeno in Umbria, Italy, sits on the edge of Lago Trasimeno, the largest lake in Central Italy. The town is popular with both Italians and tourists, in particular for the vast array of restaurants offering fish dishes prepared from fish caught in the lake by local fishermen. The town also has a lot of craft and ceramic shops and boasts a ferry terminal that takes passengers across the lake to the islands or over to Castiglione del Lago on the other side of the lake.
Hidden down an alleyway in Passignano Sul Trasimeno is the Trattoria Del Pescatore, a wonderful restaurant, specialising in fish but with a broad menu to suit all tastes. In the heat of the day this outdoor eating area with tables and chairs and red table cloths is cool and inviting. A covered veranda all the way around the restaurant provides plenty of shady seating area.
