About ‘Dutch coast’ by Sander Poppe

On a clear, beautiful morning on the Dutch coast near Westenschouwen, a serene scene unfolded. As the sun rose behind me over the shimmering Oosterschelde estuary, the landscape was bathed in warm, golden light. Before me stretched the wide sandy beach, bordered by gently undulating dunes sheltered by swaying beach grass.

The North Sea lay calm, with a silvery blue glow under a sky full of beautiful pile clouds. Their white tops caught the first sunlight, while dark shadows gave depth to the scene. The combination of sea, sand, dunes and sky formed a simple but extremely harmonious whole.

Westenschouwen, located in Zeeland, is known as a popular destination for nature lovers. Here, land and water come together in a landscape that constantly changes with the seasons and the weather. On sunny days, the coast shows its gentle side, but the traces of wind and tide tell the story of untouched nature.

This photo captures that peaceful morning perfectly: the pure light of the morning sun, the fresh sea air and the vast horizon. A moment when time seems to stand still, and the beauty of the Dutch coast in all its simplicity comes into its own.
