Such a typically Dutch picture this mill with cloudy sky. It is reminiscent of the work of 17th-century landscape painters. Late evening sun from a tempestuous cloudy sky briefly illuminates the millos in the foreground. This mill, De Korenbloem in Ulvenhout, dates from 1835, was fully restored after a fire and is still in use today. I used several of my photos to compose this image into an atmospheric whole. It is a kind of painting with photos.
Creating atmospheric images is the style I love. In my photography and painting it is mainly nature, always an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
It is looking, observing and associating where I like to combine my photos and edit them digitally. This creates a new image that you can look at for a longer time.
My paintings are executed in different paint techniques. Mostly abstract, minimalistic images with eloquence where your eyes wander over and always something new to discover.
My work has its own style that invites you to look at it longer and leaves room for your own interpretation.
