The Erasmus Bridge has been named after Dutch Renaissance humanist Desiderius Erasmus. Architect Ben van Berkel designed it. The bridge was completed in 1996.
It is 800 meters long (over 2625 feet).
The 139 meters (456 feet) high slender pylon earned the bridge its nickname "The Swan".
While it took years to realize the first pylon, for the second one in this picture a rain shower sufficed.
