Dorothy Berry-Lound Profile picture This acrylic dip painting was great fun to make. I selected a black background in order to show off the pink, blue and gold I used for the main part of the painting. The colours work beautifully together, and, as I had hoped, they really show against the black background. I like the way the blue paint creeps through the black in places, but that the focus of the piece is the exuberance of the pink that rises up in clouds to command the canvas.

Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.

An artist and writer, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
