The giraffes (Giraffa) are a genus of even-toed mammals in the family Giraffidae whose representatives are found in Africa. They are known for their long necks and the pattern of spots on their coats. Together with their closest relative, the much smaller okapi, which has a chestnut body, striped legs and a spotted head, the giraffes form the family Giraffidae.
