The Hooker glacier can be found close to the slopes of Aoraki / Mount Cook on the South Island of New Zealand. Before I made the trip I had seen such a photo come by, but I assumed that someone had been 'playing' in photoshop with the color of the lake. Once we arrived in the area we were able to take a walk of about 25 minutes. It was a well laid out path with many wooden steps. I could not believe my eyes when I came up and saw the color of this glacier lake. So it was real! The glacier itself lies between the 2 sloping slopes and is black on the top. A huge piece of broken glacier ice floats in the middle of the lake. Because of the surroundings it all seems small, but in reality it is immensely large and incredibly impressive. Rarely have I had my lunch at such a beautiful place.
Welcome to my online shop. My name is Natalie Bruns and I mainly specialize in travel photography and making watercolor paintings (the paintings can be viewed here: http://nataliebruns.werkaandemuur.nl). I love nature and I enjoy going out on foot. This brings me to places and heights where someone else may come less quickly. It will not be a surprise that this often results in pictures with panoramic views. Views that give you the feeling of being alone in that place and surrounded by beautiful nature. Have fun viewing my portfolio.
