Bank ice sculpture formed by wind and freezing splashing water.
This photo is titled "Twinkle" and is part of a series of 28 photos taken on a freezing cold winter day in February 2021.
During a week of winter weather the temperature dropped far below zero while a strong northeasterly wind was blowing on the first days. Because the water was not frozen yet, the waves of the Lauwersmeer in the north of the Netherlands hit the banks. This formed alien ice sculptures with a golden appearance, the result of the water not being clear at the time. The vegetation on the shores mixed with the snow and ice created some beautiful scenes that had to be photographed.
A week later this had all disappeared due to warmer weather.
