This beautiful, dynamic piece is called Into Yellow And Purple Space Abstract. It is an acrylic painting created in my studio in Central Italy, as always with music playing and incense burning. Purple is my favourite colour and I enjoy using it in my art when I can. Yellow is a complimentary colour to purple, which makes them a great combination in a painting. As an artist, though the colours work wonderfully together, care has to be taken not to let them mix too much as they create shades of brown, thus losing that strong, vivid look of the pure colours. I have clearly avoided that in this image. Created on a black background, I think the painting looks like gaseous clouds in space, hence the title. The gorgeous pop of colour is controlled by the black background and the effects I have created within the painting. This will look wonderful in your home or office. It draws the eye and has a depth that is quite satisfying.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and writer, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
