It stands near Oostmahorn, on the Frisian side of the Lauwersmeer. It is not actually a lighthouse; it is a gauge intended to read the water level. This gauge served from 1935 to 1969. Now it is a nautical monument (and a photogenic object). I took the photo on an early January morning. The sun was just rising and shining in the drops on the railing. A light mist rises from the water.
Amateur photographer and curious hiker. Often on the road, always with a camera. I photograph what catches my attention, what makes an impression. My challenge is to capture that, together with the emotion, the commotion of that moment. With a fascination for lines, patterns, shapes and colors in nature.
