A beautiful tree bark of Pedunculate Oak (Quercus robur) in black and white with a nice texture. There are nice deep grooves in the bark. It looks like a very old tree. It is a common species in the Netherlands. I took the photo in Gouda. I edited it in black and white to make the structure stand out more. It is a structure that keeps changing. One side of the photo looks completely different from the other. So you can walk around a tree and see a different unique pattern each time. This makes a tree beautiful and unique. Also, each tree within a species looks different. If you have 3 Pedunculate Oaks in a row, the first one is balder and the second one has more side branches and the next one has low branches. An Oak is a very sturdy tree. There has to be quite a lot of wind to blow this tree down. The strong roots in the ground form a solid foundation for the tree. This photo is set quietly near a dark wall.
