This pier is part of Blackness Castle in Scotland. The castle is located northwest of Edinburgh on the estuary of River Forth. At this pier the ships docked that delivered not only goods - probably - but also prisoners. Blackness Castle was in fact used as a prison. The castle is still completely intact and open to the public. The castle is also called "the ship that never sailed" because of the tapered castle walls that remind you of the prow of a ship. Note the ochre yellow mosses on the concrete of the pier. A photo like this will look great in an industrial or urban interior.
Amateur photographer and curious hiker. Often on the road, always with a camera. I photograph what catches my attention, what makes an impression. My challenge is to capture that, together with the emotion, the commotion of that moment. With a fascination for lines, patterns, shapes and colors in nature.
