The Broekpolder is a beautiful nature and recreation area in Vlaardingen (South Holland), where I like to go to enjoy and photograph. You can walk, cycle and mountain bike there on a landscaped trail. I ride there by mobility scooter, where I can't get everywhere. That said, I can enjoy myself there for hours.
In the summer, it has been dry for a long time and therefore, over time, an island formed in the water. Some Scottish Highlanders stand on it with their calves. In the water you can also see some birds. Ducks, a gull and a water hen. It is already near autumn and you can tell by the "flowers" in the foreground. Against the sun I took this landscape photo. The sparkle on the water, the light and the amazing clouds, I was able to capture beautifully with my camera.
I got photography from home. It was my father's hobby. In my youth he had his own darkroom to develop his photos. Later I started to photograph myself with an analogue camera. In the meantime it has made way for a digital SLR camera. No more photo rolls, but unlimited cutting. I photograph all kinds of things.
B12 Deficiency and Thin Fiber Neuropathy (DVN) threw some soot in the food in terms of possibilities. Now I briefly go out with my scooter or wheelchair and take my camera with me or look for it closer to home in the garden, so I can still take nice pictures. Again and again I see nice things to capture. I like to share all that beauty and who knows, there might be a nice picture for you on your wall!
With my photography I also want to draw attention to B12 Deficiency and DVN. I am very happy with the cooperation between the B12 institute and Erasmus MC, Department of Clinical Chemistry. They founded the B12 Institute Research Foundation.
Because I would like to support this Foundation with their good and important work, I would like to donate 10% of my commission from the sale of my photos to them. So when you buy a picture of my hand for on your wall, you help to raise awareness of (h)recognition and treatment of B12 Deficiency. DVN can be the cause of, among other things, untreated B12 Deficiency.
