On a quiet evening I stood on the shore of the Grevelingenmeer, on Schouwen-Duiveland. The sun slowly began to set and colored the sky in soft hues. It was quiet, deserted—a moment of complete peace. No people, no sound, only the rhythm of nature and the calm water that stretched to the horizon.
I chose a long shutter speed to remove the movement from the water. In this way I captured the peace I felt. The water became smooth and still, almost like a mirror. The stone pier led the eye to a small beacon with the sign “15”—a subtle reminder of speed, in a scene where everything was allowed to stand still for a moment.
What struck me about this moment was the simplicity. The space, the light, the absence of hustle and bustle. It is precisely because of the minimalism that the atmosphere emerges more strongly. The soft colors and flowing lines bring a sense of balance and stillness.
The photo “On the shore of the Grevelingenmeer during sunset” is more than a landscape in Zeeland for me; it is a moment of introspection. In the simplicity I found beauty, in the silence I found space. This shot invites you to slow down, to stand still for a moment in a world that always goes on. It is an ode to silence and peace, captured in light and time.
I hope this photo conveys that same feeling of silence and slowing down. Sometimes standing still is exactly what you need.
Welcome.

An invitation to be still and to slow down. Not only to look, but above all to experience the peace, space and simplicity, in the middle of the busy world..
