About "Painting of a Flying Boeing Stearman Model 75"

by Jan Keteleer (JanKé): A Journey Beyond the Canvas

About the artwork

Many people associate the Retro style painting of a flying Boeing Model 75 from 1936 with a "hitchhiking" art movement. While that is partially true, this painting also makes an excellent modern art print that would look great framed on your wall as a framed piece of wall art. When comparing paintings of flying airplanes in the Retro style with others in the same category, you will see an obvious difference. The airplane in this painting is placed in a completely different light than all the other flying aircraft.

In this painting the airplane is framed by a light blue sky, and the surrounding environment is gray. The dark gray color of the horizon and blue of the sky background adds depth to the painting, making it seem like it has depth as well. It is almost as if the painting is a representation of the way the world looks at night, when all is darkness. This type of painting also captures the feel of the early days of aviation.

Although many people associate paintings with retro fashions, you might be surprised at some of the art works that contain flying planes. You can even find paintings that portray early hot air balloons. If you love art that captures the past, then you will love the retro painting of a flying B-29 and its attendant Stearman. This painting also captures another form of art, and that is the style of the 1950s, which was a much slower speed than what we know today. This painting was created for a private collector by artist Jan Keteleer.
