A black and white image of one corner of the town walls of Panicale in Umbria, Italy.
Panicale is an old medieval walled town, high up on a mountainside with stunning views to the valley below on all sides. There has been a castle here since the 9th Century and these town walls have withstood many battles. Today, however, the walls house a thriving, outward looking community, a town very popular with tourists. They hold lots of festivals and events which attract people in large numbers. It is also such a pretty place to walk around, with a large square where you can sit outside a bar and watch the world go by.
This image shows one of the main turrets of the walls, a cornerstone, if you like, for the walls. It looks out over the view down the valley and you can see how it allowed for early warning during the days of war. An impressive piece of stone and brick built architecture that is impressive to behold.
Born in the South of England I now live half way up a mountain in Umbria, Italy. I work from my art studio looking out over fabulous views of the Italian countryside. I am so happy to share my artwork with you.
An artist and blogger, I specialize in photo art and acrylic painting. For my photo art, I start with my own photographs and work on them digitally to capture the feeling I want to convey with the final image. For my abstract work, I literally 'go with the flow' and follow where my heart wants to take me as I work.
I create art to make your heart smile, capturing the spirit of place in towns and villages, or creating art to enhance the energy of your home or workplace. Take your time to look through my portfolio, I hope you enjoy it.
