This black and white photograph was taken in the Johannes Kerkhovenpolder (Woldendorp). In the early 1960s, more than 25 ha of orchards (apples and pears) were planted in the polder. In 1970, however, it was decided to grub up the orchard. Financially, the market had become too bad. When the orchard was laid out, the necessary wood frames were also created, consisting of poplars. This picture shows a part of the canals that are still there.
